147 Days and Counting

Do you remember why the Nurses went on Strike with St Vincent Hospital?
Sheila Wilson’s interview today with Beckett Augat, R.N. at St. Vincent Hospital. Sheila and Beckett talked about the main reason that the Nurses went out on strike for the safety of the Patient.
We must understand the Main Reason the Nurses went out on Strike. As the strike continues, things will be said, you know, he said she said and you lose the real reason for something that happened such as this strike with the Nurses and St Vincent Hospital.
The nurses are responsible for too many patients and it isn’t safe for the patients!  Patient ratios were getting too high and could leave the patient in jeopardy.  Many of the striking nurses have lost faith and trust in the administration.  These nurses have been on strike for 147 days so far! Negotiations will continue Monday, August 2, 2021, we wish success to the Nurses on the Negotiations with St. Vincent Hospital and for wanting to take care of their patients the correct way!

Nurse Speaking out on why they are Striking

Advertisements
Sheila Wilson, Nurse, and Advocate for Safety in the Workplace

I will post one posting for each of the six individuals that spoke to Sheila Wilson Host of Stop Health Care Violence, at the strike site.

Beckett Augat was one of the 6 Individuals that was interviewed by Sheila Wilson at the Strike Site.

Sheila Wilson is speaking to Beckett Augat a nurse with many years of experience at ST. Vincents’ Hospital carrying a sign, while striking. She
has been walking out on the sidewalks. When asked “WHY are you striking? “ I am striking because “we have given this hospital many unsafe staffing forms” and not once did they respond. The patients deserve more, the patients come to us because of an issue and would like to be taken care of. They want good care and we want to give it to them. Not having enough staff is dangerous and unsafe to the patient and to the nurse.

You could feel the Solidarity among all the individuals that were participating in this strike and also when the drivers passing by would honk their car horns.  It truly was so amazing to see the support for these Nurses.

Please share this video for Beckett Augat one of the individuals that spoke with Sheila Wilson concerning the Nurses on Strike in Worcester.

If you could help the Nurses while they are on strike would be great. Help with the family needs the Nurses are dealing with waiting for Unemployment to start.
